Planning & Purchasing Assistant, Royston

This role reports to the Planning & Purchasing Manager, you will help to effectively plan and manage the flow of customer orders through the business, liaising with both internal departments and suppliers to ensure the company achieves 100% OTIF delivery to their customers.

Responsibilities: –

  • Update material reservations daily
  • Respond to any email queries daily
  • Liaise with account managers to discuss any delays in time or process
  • Raising weekly production purchase orders
  • Raising material purchase orders on an ad-hoc basic responding to short term material requirements
  • Confirm all material purchase orders on CERM and advise manager of any queries/delays
  • Manage status updates on CERM (MIS system) for all job bags passing through the area daily
  • Attend and contribute to daily production meetings
  • Send weekly reports to account managers and the studio with planned weekly forecast for outstanding jobs
  • Email weekly lead time updates to the busines
  • Long term scheduling – plan and prepare production schedules in conjunction with the planning and purchasing manager
  • Purchasing projects – cost savings exercise
  • Manage a small group of suppliers and maintain effective working relationships in conjunction with the planning and purchasing manager
  • Liaise with good in to resolve any delivery/stock queries
  • Work within the remit of ISO90001, PS9000 and BRC

Candidate Specification :-

  • Planning experience in FMCG company is essential
  • Experience of working within the print and packaging industry or similar manufacturing environment
  • Highly proficient with the planning function for complex manufacturing lines and have used a business management software package to control this task
  • An effective communicator
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritise work
  • Pro-active and enthusiastic approach, with commitment and dedication to the role
  • Strong Excel skills

Hours:  9am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday
