Welder/Sheet Metal Worker, Hitchin
Hourly rate £12.00 to £13.00
Hours of work: 7.30am – 4.30pm Mon to Thurs and 7.30am – 3.30pm on Friday
• Fabricating mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium components that require welding as part of the fabrication process.
• Working from detailed fabrication drawings, identify materials needed and the processes required to fabricate items to a customer’s specification
• Using metal working equipment such as brake presses, guillotines and punches during the fabrication process
• Working with other members of the team on large products to ensure that item are fabricated in the correct order and are delivered on the correct dates.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in a wide range of metal working disciplines, be flexible and willing to turn their hands to many different jobs. It is essential that you have the confidence and ability to work on your own initiative when needed but also work as part of a team.
This role requires an individual who has experience in welding and fabrication in aluminium, steel and stainless steel. Previous qualification in coded welding would be a distinct advantage but training can be provided.
To have experience of all sheet metal duties including marking, cutting, bending, forming, drilling. You must have the ability to manufacture and build from engineering drawings using brake presses, punches and guillotines.
